Software Developer
Androgogic seeks a talented and creative software engineer to work full time as part of a growing team in the Educational Technology space. The position involves working with the software engineering team to develop online learning applications including customisation of Open Source systems such as the Moodle Learning Management System, Mahara ePortfolio, and the Plone CMS. Other challenges include systems integrations, tool building, developing applications for handheld devices such as the iPhone, iPad and Android and supporting deployed applications with diagnostics and bug fixes.
Must have
- A passion for software development and client happiness
- Experience working with the LAMP stack including strong PHP programming skills and experience and strong SQL skills and experience
- Strong problem solving ability in relation to software development and bug fixes
- Proven ability to work as a member of a tight knit but distributed team, including strong discipline working from home and GSOH
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
Desirable (the more the better)
- Relevant tertiary qualifications or equivalent commercial experience (BSc Comp Sci or better ideal)
- MySQL and/or PostgreSQL experience
- Good knowledge of Linux systems
- JavaScript, jQuery
- Python
- XSLT
- SOAP/REST programming experience
Experience working with Educational Technologies such as Learning Management Systems (ideally Moodle) and/or experience working in or within the Education sector is a big plus.
In fact we would love many years of experience in all the above areas, but if you don't have them and you're really good please apply anyway.
To be considered, applicants must be eligible to live and work in Australia for over 12 months (Australian Citizens or Permanent Resident status essential).
This position is nominally Sydney-based though we will consider non-Sydney based candidates if they are good enough.

Salary range & benefits
- $70K – $90K (plus 9% super) depending on level of experience, portfolio and skills
- Company phone (iPhone4), new MacBookPro at maximum specifications (any OS OK), can work from home
